In his weekly conference, President José Raúl Mulino described the job fair, organized by the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (Mitradel) and the company Chiquita Panama in Bocas del Toro, as a “success.” “The minister (Jackeline Muñoz) wrote to me that the recruitment was a success. Of the 5,000 job positions enabled by Chiquita, 3,000 workers will be hired in this first stage; it is great news for Bocas del Toro,” expressed Mulino. He emphasized that these positions will be fundamental for the reactivation of the region's economy. Furthermore, he stressed that the selection process was carried out openly and transparently and without influence. “As those who covered the event can attest, without any levers or political factions of any kind,” said the head of state. And he announced that Mitradel delivered 165 bonuses to port workers in Almirante, affected by past closures, highlighting the role of the maritime sector in the export of bananas produced in Bocas del Toro.
